Audio Books Stock ImageCourse Description

Week One:
There will be discussion and samples of the various formats for audio books, novels, articles, journals, newspapers, history and text books. We’ll read from the various formats and explore how some are driven by character, information and instruction. Learn the levels of acting that are required for each formats

Week Two:
What preparation is involved?  Reading the script/book before recording. Which characters have accents? What are their ages, etc?   Are you explaining or describing?  How much do you leave to the audience’s imagination?

Week Three:
Keeping track of characters.  Color coordinating characters within the script and sustaining those characters.  If you’re reading a cook book, are you using your ‘taste’ expressions?  Are you visual, in your reading?  Are you living inside the story?  Relating to your audience.  Interpretation Etc.

Week Four:
Experimenting with physicality.  When reading Novels, for example, you are doing 5 to 16 different characters.  Are you sitting down? Are you acting out?  What works within the confines of a studio?   Working with the recording engineer who is hearing your body noise.  Microphone levels and the stress on your voice.  The long hours of recording, while sustaining vocal presence from beginning to end.

Investment - $180.00
