Paul Holmes is a social media event planner and speaker. He has presented to diverse audiences across British Columbia.
He is co-organizer of Social Media Camp, the largest Social Media event in Western Canada, and the largest technology-related event on Vancouver Island. Paul co-founded Canada’s first Social Media Club chapter in Victoria in March, 2009.
He is a keen advocate of WordPress, organizing WordCamp Victoria. The 2011 and 2012 events were successively the largest WordPress events ever held in British Columbia.
From 2000 to 2011, Paul was President of IdeaZone, a recognized local leader in website design. He sold this business in December, 2011 to pursue a lifelong career goal in the financial world (a.k.a. his new day job).
Some of Paul’s Social Media speaking engagements include the Cambie Village Business Association, BC Social Media Summit, Association of University Research Parks, UVic Faculty of Business, Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce, Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce, Vancouver Island Real Estate Board and Volunteer Victoria.
