Course Overview

In this workshop, Julia Shanks, food consultant and author, will demonstrate how to best cook, store, and preserve the fruits and vegetables you receive in your CSA (community supported agriculture) share or purchase at your local farmers' market. Wondering what to do with your garlic scapes? Looking for a new, creative way to use radishes? Julia can provide some great tips and recipe ideas!

You will gain knowledge about the following:

-How to properly and safely preserve

-What are the different shelf lives of certain fruits and veggies

-Different ways of serving your farm-fresh goodies

The course will start off with a tour of Allandale Farm with farmer John Lee, and will feature produce from an Allandale Farm CSA share!
