Meetings with Buyers and Sourcing Agents

MEETINGS WITH QUALIFIED FOREIGN BUYERS, PARTNERS, AND PROCUREMENT OFFICIALS FROM CENTRAL AMERICA AND THE U.A.E.

One of the unique aspects to DISCOVER 2012 is the opportunity to meet individually with foreign buyers, partners, and procurement officials.

Central America:
Why export to Central America (Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua)?
Consider:

  • The  region offer enormous opportunities for exports from the United States with  40% of the regions imports coming from the U.S.,
  • 80% of the U.S. goods entering the region come in Duty-Free and the remaining 20& have very low tariff rates, 1 to 7%,
  • The region’s business environment is greatly improved,
  • Few import restrictions, Standards are similar to those in the U.S., and labeling & testing requirements have been greatly simplified.
  • Best sales prospects include:  Medical/Dental Equipment; Building/Construction; Cosmetics; Electrical Power Systems/Renewable Energy; Food Processing/Packaging; and Safety/Security

IMPORTANT UPDATE:  Below are links to recently received profiles, including purchase interests, from Costa Rican companies that will be attending DISCOVER 2012 .

SPECIAL NOTE:  For those U.S. companies whose products or services match up well with the participating foreign buyers’ objectives, the DISCOVER 2012 organizers will arrange one-on-one meetings with the interested buyers.   Registrations from U.S. companies interested in the meetings will be shared with the U.S. Commercial Service offices in these countries.

To maximize the potential for quality meetings it is essential for companies to register for DISCOVER 2012 as early as possible.

United Arab Emirates:  One-on-One Meetings with Visiting Foreign Buyers, Partners, and Procurement Officials

Why export to the U.A.E.?  Consider:

  • It is one of the safest, fastest, and most stable and businesses friendly markets for U.S. goods,
  • Exports from the U.S. increased  36% in 2011 and are projected to increase by 75% in Q1 2012,
  • The U.A.E., particularly the emirate of Dubai, has long been recognized as the commercial and business hub of the Middle East and beyond,
  • The country has developed a leading role in business services, including finance, and has effectively created a logistics hub between east and west.
  • Best sales prospects include:  Energy and Power Generation Equipment, Aerospace and Defense, Safety and Security, Infrastructure Related Equipment, and Green Building Products, Medical Equipment.

The visiting buying delegation will seek to highlight the unique role of Dubai and the Northern Emirates as a gateway to the broader regional markets comprising the Middle East, North and East Africa, the Indian sub-continent and Central Asia.
