New Treatment for BPD and PTSD
with Melanie Harned

Please join Hope for BPD on Monday, June 4th 2012 when we host an hour-long discussion with BPD researcher Melanie Harned, PhD about Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and borderline personality disorder (BPD).

Dr. Harned received her PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and currently works as a research scientist at the University of Washington and is the research director at Marsha Linehan's clinic. Most recently she's authored an article titled Treating PTSD in Suicidal and Self-Injuring Women with Borderline Personality Disorder: Development and Preliminary Evaluation of a Dialectical Behavior Therapy Prolonged Exposure Protocol.

During this conference call, Dr. Harned will define PTSD and discuss the use of exposure treatment for PTSD and anxiety for those who have been diagnosed with BPD. All participants will be given the opportunity to ask Dr. Harned questions and will receive additional information about PTSD and exposure treatment prior to the call.

This event is appropriate for individuals diagnosed with BPD, their families and friends, and mental health professionals.

The cost for this event is $25 per person but you can register through May 25th for just $15.

Please contact Amanda at (941) 704-4328 for additional information.
