 2013 Best Business Woman of Pittsburgh

  • Dr. Shellie Hipsky, Inspiring Lives, LLC. As an active volunteer since the age of 12, Dr. Hipsky has dedicated her life to serving the needs of women and children internationally through her TV show "Inspiring Lives with Dr. Shellie, 5 books, over 100 articles, and in the trenches service work in homeless shelters, classrooms, and homes for peole with AIDS/HIV and special needs.
  • Rose Morris, The Safety Sleeper. As a mother of a child with special needs, Rose had to cope with her son's sleeping issues. She invented a safe, enclosed portable bed, and decided to offer it to families with similar needs.
  • Dr. Queeney Tang, Ariix. This international business woman and network marketing leader continues to inspires colleagues and team members while sharing her passion and insight about wellness, diet, supplements and overall health from a global perspective.
  • Debi Arnett, Who's Your brother.  Who's Your Brother is a non profit organization that encourages people everywhere to build up their communities as they build up each other, sharing their talents and resources with one another to promote a peace and a brotherhood among our fellow neighbors that we have not yet known.

  • Rose Morris, Fund It Forward - a non-profit she co-founded to partner with families of special needs children. 
  • Jennifer Redfield, The Project to End Human Trafficking (PEHT) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2004 as part of the anti-slavery movement. 
  • Debi Arnett, Who's Your brother.  Who's Your Brother is a non profit organization that encourages people everywhere to build up their communities as they build up each other, sharing their talents and resources with one another to promote a peace and a brotherhood among our fellow neighbors that we have not yet known.

  • Annette Locke, Premier Design Jewelry. Annette has been nominate for her commitment to mentor other WSBA members and the continued growth of ther business.
  • Cassie Gillen, Cassandra's Florals. Cassie has been recognized for her perseverance to build her business while dealing with some tough personal issues, but continuing to support other women in business as their grow their business.
  • Beth Egan, Healthy Homes- Healthy Families. Beth has been recognized for her commitment to her family and business, and her tireless efforts to educate all about the toxins in our homes and enviroment. She is also recognized for her consistent commitment to WSBA and it's members.
  • Kelly Bauman, New Hope Functional Medicine and Chiropractic.  Kelly has been recognized for the rapid growth of her business, her balance of family and business, and her commitment to reach out to many WSBA members.

Fran Treloar from Wild West Online Productions and a professional videographer will be offering a 1-minute or longer high-quality video for your business. This video can be placed on your website, social media platforms or in emails/newsletters. Scripting help will be available, but come prepared to talk about your business: Your Name, company name & location, services you provide, a call to action and a big SMILE.

Some of us blog. Some of us don't. Regardless, we still need to improve our On-Line Exposure in a way that helps us be known as an expert in field without consuming all our time. Mindmapping is a great tool to plan any type of business strategy. It is a graphical representation of your thoughts that can be created using pencil and paper or computer app's. While Mindmapping is great fro many types of strategies, we will be focusing on Creating a Strategy to share Valuable Content On-Line whether you blog or not in just a few minutes a day.

We’re all familiar with tradition lending (Banks/S.B.A.) for Small Businesses. You will learn about the local and national organizations that provide funding and technical assistance for non profits, start ups and existing businesses. In addition, we will spend time discussing bootstrapping methods and how to obtain funding through your existing network. Everyone will receive a copy of the presentation with the links to all the resources.

"Obtaining and retaining customers with good customer service" 


Our panel of experts will make themselves available for your questions, and offer valuable information on the benefits of good customer service. They will also offer tips for providing good customer service for the purpose of customer retention.
