River View Architectural Tour

Join STC Chicago members for a one-hour cruise of the historic Chicago River showcasing over 40 landmarks of modern American architecture. Professional guides knowledgeable in the architecture field recount the dramatic story of Chicago’s rise from the Great Fire of 1871 to become the home of the skyscraper and the cradle of modern American architecture. See buildings by world-famous architects including Mies van der Rohe, Skidmore Owings & Merrill, and Helmut Jahn.

A complimentary map and guide is a souvenir of the cruise. Tour boat boards at Navy Pier, goes down the main branch of the Chicago River, up the north branch to the East Bank Club, and  then south past the Willis Tower (formerly know as the "Sears Tower") to the old Post Office Building.

ADA Note: For your convenience, all of the tour boats have easy boarding ramps and are accessible to people with disabilities. The vessels, however, are not equipped with elevators. Restrooms, which are located on the lower deck, and the upper decks of the Architecture Cruise boat are not accessible to those in wheelchairs. Additionally the upper decks of the boat are open and do not provide protection from the elements.

Event includes round-trip executive coach transportation from Hyatt Regency O’Hare and ticket for boat tour. Lunch is on your own prior to departing the Hyatt.
