Domingo DeGrazia Summer Concert

Domingo is an Arizona native and the youngest son of famed Arizona artist Ted DeGrazia.  Domingo is known for combining the passion of Spanish guitar with flair of Flamenco guitar technique.  His band includes Grammy nominated artist Jim Pavett on percussion and the captivating violin virtuoso, Beth Daunis.  

The unique performance will include songs Domingo wrote for the Ted DeGrazia CD, Please Remember Me.  Officials at the DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun recently discovered sheet music containing songs written by Ted DeGrazia in the 1930s.  Though Ted DeGrazia achieved international acclaim for his paintings depicting native cultures of the Sonoran desert, he was also an accomplished composer and musician who led a big band while putting himself through the University of Arizona.  The songs were recorded and released in on the Please Remember Me CD, released in 2011.   Domingo not only played on his father’s recordings, but wrote new music to accompany his father’s songs.

The performance will also celebrate the release of the concert DVD, DeGrazia Centennial Celebration, filmed at the Fox theatre.  Domingo released the Spanish Guitar and Violin CD, The Bluest Sky, in 2010 with songs written and performed by Domingo DeGrazia and Beth Daunis.  Domingo’s previous CD, San Carlos, met with acclaim on its release in 2007 and will be followed by the Nuance Spanish Guitar CD which is now in production.  This was DeGrazia’s second CD following his classical guitar CD, Calendars.  The new live CD, Live at the Paramount, was released in 2009.  More background on the artist at www.degraziamusic.com.
