Artist Bio & Statement Workshop
Every professional artist should have an artist statement and bio.
What we will do in this workshop:
In this workshop we are going to focus on crafting tools to build your career as a professional artist. The intended use of the Artist Bios and statements crafted in this workshop will reach beyond the realm of pure academia and into the realm of practical application. The ideal Artist statement/ bio will build a bridge between the viewer and the artist. The reader/viewer should not need a Masters degree in order to understand your meaning.
In this workshop we will work together via interviews and interaction to craft each attendants professional artist statement and bio. This class will be taught by Lauren Johnson, CoOwner and Creative Director of ZaPow.
There are many different scenarios in which you might want to craft an artist statement. These items can be used as tools of self exploration and creative discovery and they can also be used as implements of career building.In this workshop we are going to focus on crafting tools to build your career as a professional artist.
