December 13, 2012 ClearEdge IT Solutions -Practical Experience with Apache™ Pig

This is a one-day course for developers with either a background in Hadoop and MapReduce (or a desire to learn), would benefit most from this training.

Course Overview

ClearEdge has developed a one- day program to provide students with the necessary skills to run jobs utilizing the Pig analytic and MapReduce framework. Students will leave the training ready to import and analyze data using Apache™ Pig. During the course students will learn;

What is Apache™ Pig and why do you use it
PigLatin applications and how they are used
How Pig can reduce the time needed to write MapReduce jobs
Real World applications of Apache™ Pig

Course Pre-Requisites

Prior knowledge of both Java and MapReduce is not a requirement, it would be beneficial to writing more efficient jobs. To ensure that this courseware meets the intended learning objectives, the instructor may not be able to offer full detailed information outside of the scope of this program. The instructor will tailor the program (without compromising the objectives) to the needs of each individual class.
