Development of Community Mental Health Consultation--6 CEUs 

The workshop participants will learn the theory and practice of developing consultation relationships with other human service providers and academic institutions in the com-munity.

In the morning session, the participants will learn the Beginning Process of developing mental health consultation relationships with other human service providers and aca-demic organizations. Topics of discussion will include: the preparation of the consult-ant, the dynamics of the consultant and consultee organizational relationship, how the relationship changes over time, and the uses of consultee’s evaluation in the develop-ment of consultation relationship.

In the afternoon, the participants will learn the practical issues they may confront in developing mental health consultation in their respective programs. Review of learning and further elaboration of concepts and practical issues will be discussed according to the experience and the issues presented by the participants.

Faculty:

Meji was the Assistant Director of the Post Graduate and Interdisciplinary Training Center in Community Psychiatry in Berkeley, the Dean of Rose-bridge Graduate School of Integrative Psychology, faculty at U.C. Berke-ley Doctoral School Psychology Program, California School of Profes-sional Psychology and U.C. Medical Center in San Francisco. He has served in Community Mental Health Programs for almost a quarter of a century.

R.K. Janmeja (Meji) Singh, Ph.D. Meji was the Founding President of The Hume Center and is currently the Chief Psychologist.
