Increasing Access to Community Capital- New Strategies for Funding Social Entrepreneurs and Social Enterprises

Come learn about new financing strategies that democratize and broadly expand the possibilities for double-bottom line "impact investing." Keynote Speaker Michael Shuman, author of Local Dollars, Local Sense and and long time community capital organizer, will show us how "local companies can trump market returns and how legalized crowd-funding could do more for job creation than throwing money at big corporations." A panel of practitioners will discuss the immediate opportunities and challenges in Los Angeles.
