@BENET HILL CAMPUS Walking with Benedict through Scripture Year Two: Biblical Humility This journey studies the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testament through the lens of the Benedictine pillar of humility. This perspective on humility is different from secular definitions that equate humility with meekness, shyness or lacking in strength. Because humility is misunderstood in these ways, it can be viewed as unimportant in today's world and dismissed. But true humility calls us to the freedom to live a grace-filled life of truth, just as Jesus did. Authentic biblical humility strengthens and empowers us as we recognize God is God, and we are not. Whether you are a Scripture scholar or new to Scripture, we invite you to this time of study and reflection.

Online: Biblical Hospitality: Year One This 16 week study on biblical hospitality is an online option starting again in January. Our aim is to have you connect online with a small group of people who will be taking the course at the same time as you. Using a blog and dropbox we hope this will enhance your learning experience. This study breaks open the Scriptures using the Benedictine pillar of "Hospitality". This hospitality has little to do with our cultural definitions that equate hospitality with entertaining. This biblical perspective is grounded in understanding God as initiator- as host- the one who forever calls, welcomes, challenges and abides with us. Biblical Hospitality is not optional; but a radical imperative. Fee: $150.

Students will be challenged as they study this gospel's Book of Signs & Book of Glory and highly symbolic language. Sept 6-Dec 20 Thursday evenings, 6:30-8:30 pm Fee: $225
