First Aid

HRUHCA Basic First Aid Safety portion of the First Aid/CPR Course is intended to provide construction workers with a general awareness of how to deal with common emergency situations that could be faced on the job site. Some typical course topics Include:

  •  Emergency scene management
  • Recognizing emergencies
  • Initial assessment of victims
  • When to call 911
  • Safety and Protection from infection
  • Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke
  • Hypothermia and frostbite
  • Bleeding Control
  • Treatment of Burns
  • Broken Bones
  • Head and Neck injuries
  • Sunburn
  • Nose Bleeds
  • Bug bites and Tick removal
  • Epilepsy and seizures

CPR (CardioPulmonary Resuscitation)

HRUHCA teaches the American Heart Association’s Heart Saver technique of CPR which employs a combination of breathing and chest compressions. Blood Borne Pathogens Our OSHA Blood borne Pathogens training course addresses the federal OSHA “Occupational Exposure to Blood Borne

Pathogens” standard (29 CFR 1910.1030) which prescribes safeguards to protect workers against the health hazards from exposure to blood and OPIM (other potentially infectious materials) and to reduce their risk from this exposure. Our course meets and exceeds the requirements for OSHA's Blood Borne Pathogens training established by OSHA standard (29 CFR1910.1030).
