Become certified to deliver McREL’s popular Classroom Instruction That Works to educators within your district or service area.

In this Classroom Instruction That Works Facilitation Training, you will:

  • Learn Classroom Instruction That Works content
  • Learn the design and flow of activities and strategies in the workshop
  • Lead professional development and practice successful implementation
  • Learn how to assist teachers in applying the instructional strategies that matter most to student achievement

As a Certified Facilitator, you are authorized to:

  • Present the Classroom Instruction That Works workshop within the parameters of your licensure agreement
  • Purchase training materials for participants

NOTE:  Prior to attending this session, you must sign and return a memorandum of understanding of defined parameters. This document will be sent to you when we receive notification of your interest to attend this training session.

Who should attend: Professional development staff from educational service agencies; staff from districts and organizations who intend to deliver training on McREL’s Classroom Instruction That Works, 2nd edition.

Meet your Presenter

Howard Pitler

As a senior director for curriculum and instruction, Howard works with schools, districts, and state agencies to improve teacher pedagogy to impact student achievement and has been invited to present at technology conferences throughout the country. He is the lead author of Using Technology with Classroom Instruction that Works and developed McREL's Power Walkthrough informal observation software. Prior to joining McREL, Howard was an elementary and middle school principal for 19 years. He holds a bachelor's degree from Indiana State University and master's, specialist, and doctorate degrees from Wichita State University.

Tuition: $2,500 includes facilitator’s guide, Classroom Instruction that Works workshop, facilitator training, and certification to present unlimited trainings within your district or service area for a period of one year. (Tax may apply in some states.) Continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided on each day of training.

This workshop will be held at McREL’s national headquarters, located at 4601 DTC Blvd, Denver, CO 80237.
