How does a professional Chef shop a farmer’s market? Looking at everything there is to offer and then choosing the best and the finest ingredients to bring back to her kitchen to create a fresh, locally inspired farm to table meal, is what Chef Christy Erickson-Prior does. Tag along with Chef Christy at the Saturday morning Aquidneck Grower’s Market as she looks over the offerings and chooses farm fresh ingredients to bring back to the Newport Cooks! Kitchen where we’ll meet the next morning for a fabulous Farm to Table creative cooking class. (Feel free to bring your own recyclable bags to shop the Farmer’s Market along with her!) After we shop on Saturday, Chef Christy will put together recipes for a 3 - 4 course meal that everyone will learn how to make on Sunday morning in a lively hands-on cooking class. We’ll all go home with great new ideas on how best to utilize the abundance of delicious local ingredients found at our local farm stands and farmer’s markets.
