Arkansas State University Moviemaking Camp 

The 2012 ASU Summer Student Movie-Maker Camp will provide a "hands-on" narrative film experience for high-school students and teachers who want to increase their knowledge of basic screenwriting, producing, directing, cinematography, lighting, and editing skills.  The camp will be under the supervision of Gary Jones, a verteran (49 years and still counting) filmmaker who has worked in all film formats - from 8mm to 65mm - and all current high-definition digital cinema formats.  Mark your calendar for July 29 - August 2.  This camp is designed for commuter students only.  The cost of the camp is $100.00 per participant.

Responding to feedback from last year’s inaugural group of students and teachers, the 2012 Moviemaking Camp will have less talk and more action.  Pre-production and script ideas will be handled via email prior to Sunday, July 29^th so that Camp participants can “hit the ground running”.  (Let’s face it.  The only way to learn how to make movies—is to MAKE movies.)  The ASU Dept of Radio-TV Narrative Film program will provide all equipment necessary, although students are also welcome to bring their own HDSLRs and laptops.
