Big Top Chautauqua Overnight Trip

We are pleased to announce that Wisconsin Public Radio is sponsoring an overnight trip to the Chequamegon Bay area on August 9th and 10th.

Highlighting the trip will be a live performance at Big Top Chautauqua by the Blue Canvas OrchestraLed by Musical Director, Ed Willett and made up of mainly bluegrass instrumentation, the concert will be a selection of originals written by members of the BCO.  Ranging from Folk to Rock, Jazz to Blues, and Celtic to World Inspired music, their talent is unstoppable.

Prior to the performance, we will dine at the Good Thyme Restaurant in Washburn.  You will have your choice of Chicken Bruschetta or Lake Trout Piccata as your entree choice; along with potatoes, vegetable, bread, coffee and/or water.  And no, we didn't forget dessert- bread pudding will be the grand finale.

Trip guests will stay at the AmericInn in Ashland.  A continental breakfast will be served at the hotel the morning of August 10th before we depart for a day in Minocqua.  On our way out of town, we will have a quick tour of the Ashland murals from the bus.

We will arrive in Minocqua in time for lunch, which will be on your own.  You will also have free time there to enjoy the shops, the lakefront, museums, etc. of downtown Minocqua.  Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua is a year round non-profit performing arts organization who hosts shows in a 900-seat, state-of-the-art tent theater. Big Top produced and presents over fifty shows of concerts, plays, lectures, musicals during their summer season.
