August 12 - 14, 2012 ~ Camp Mokule'ia, O'ahu
Theme: Our Ministry in an Age of Anxiety: Lessons for the Venerable Bede
The program for the clergy retreat will be led by Bishop Bob Fitzpatrick. The title of the retreat is "Our Ministry in an Age of Anxiety: Lessons from the Venerable Bede." We will use Bede's The Ecclesiastical History of the English People to talk about ministry in our own contexts in changing and turbulent times. For a little summer reading prior to the retreat, clergy might get down their copies of the Venerable Bede. This classic book describes the growth of the Christian faith in the British Isles through the eighth century in the midst of a variety of conflicts.
