The Arts Alliance is thrilled to partner with Anna Myer and North American Family Institute/Youth Link, with the support of the New England Foundation for the Arts' Expeditions Program, to bring Hoop Suite to our region, beginning July 29 with a benefit preview, continuing with a series of fall workshops for area high-school students and culminating in final performances November 2 at the Holderness School and November 3 at Kennett High School, North Conway.
We invite you to a benefit preview and discussion of the New Hampshire Hoop Suite Project on Sunday afternoon, July 29, at 2:30 pm in the Sandwich Central School gym, followed by a donor reception in the Wentworth Library meeting room.
A spoken word rap opera created through a collaboration of Anna Myer and Dancers, one of the Boston area's top performing dance and theater companies, and youth from some of Boston's toughest public housing developments, the project melds classical music and dance with spoken word, percussive instruments and hip-hop movement that has encouraged teen artists to explore dance, drumming, poetry and technical work in a professional setting.
I can't make it but I would like to donate to the project.
Following the preview and discussion there will be a reception for donors who are helping us bring this 30-person project to northern New Hampshire.
We hope you will be able to join us; if you If you are not able to attend, there are other ways you can help. You can donate money, food, or housing for the artists, or donate your time through volunteering.
