Aging with gusto
Addressing misconceptions, fears, and biases as we age
You are invited to participate in a community discussion about strengthening the way we value and connect with people as they age.
In our youth-oriented culture, misconceptions, fears, and biases about people 50+ often result in discrimination, lack of respect, and lost opportunities. As a result, individuals 50+ may lose respect for themselves and are in danger of detrimental effects on their mental and physical health.
We expect the outcome of this session will be common themes that will help to both define the problem and describe the ideal we would like to move towards. This project will build off of Saint Paul - Ramsey County Public Health’s The Wakanheza Project and Family Transformation Model.
Please join us and be a part of the discussion. Register by Friday, August 24.
This discussion is sponsored by the Vital Aging Network and Saint Paul - Ramsey County Public Health.
