Since the creation of the National LATINA Symposium in 2004, LATINA Style has been actively involved in the efforts with the Department of Defense and all the military services engage in supporting Latinas serving in the military. We showcase the accomplishments of military heroes via our Letters from the Front column every month and our Annual Distinguished Military Service Awards Ceremony and Luncheon at the National LATINA Symposium in early September. This year, with some of our Corporate Partners and with the guidance of our Military Advisory Board, we are launching a four city tour to help military veterans transition into the civilian workplace.
We are proud to launch this effort in Washington, DC on September 6 at the Hilton Crystal City (2399 Jefferson Davis Highway | Arlington, VA 92101 ) with a conference specifically designed to prepare veterans and transitional active duty members for interviews and jobs in Corporate America. The sessions will include resume writing, interview tips, job boards and postings, the power of social media and networking.
