Gateway Pet Guardians will host our third annual Soiree for Strays “The Art of Animals” on Friday November 16th, 2012 at PLUSH on Locust. For 2012, we will hold an art sale and auction to benefit Gateway Pet Guardians. This fundraising gala has become the signature event for Gateway Pet Guardians and we invite you to become a sponsor for this very special evening.
Animals have always been a source of inspiration and creativity. This event will celebrate the loving bond between animals and humans, raise awareness of animal issues and peer into the lives of those who have lived on the streets and survived against all odds. Stories of love and tales of hope will be told through the eyes of many local artists. Chairing the event is well-known local artist, illustrator and designer Michael Anderson.
The gala and reception will be held on the 4th Floor Penthouse at PLUSH, one of St Louis’ newest, hottest, hippest and most dynamic event spaces in the city! Guests will also enjoy live entertainment, cocktails, a delicious made from scratch appetizer buffet featuring several vegan options and an awards ceremony that acknowledges the contributions of three supporters that have made a significant difference to Gateway Pet Guardians and the well-being of homeless animals over the past year. There will be art from every medium…live art, performance art, art for sale, art to bid on, poetry, live music, dancers and that’s just the beginning!
ARE YOU AN ARTIST?
Participation is open to all artists. Artwork must be original and have animals, animal issues or pets as the central theme. We invite artists to use our foster dogs as “subjects” for your work. However, that is not mandatory. All media will be considered for inclusion. We will also be looking for artists to perform poetry, music, dance and live art for auction.
