Designed for Christian counselors, clergy and lay ministers, this course will compare and contrast the key tenets of the Christian faith with contemporary theory and practice in the field of counseling. Continuing education credits (27 CEUs) for professional counselors and social workers are available from the state. Knowledge of counseling theory assumed.
Joanne Martin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has worked in a variety of human service settings including community mental health, primary health care, and private social service agencies. She holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Syracuse University (1996), a Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh (2002),and is currently finishing her Master of Arts in Religion (MAR) degree at Trinity. Her thesis interest is forgiveness and reconciliation in interpersonal relationships. Currently she provides counseling through her private practice, These Three, the mission of which is to facilitate growth and healing by nurturing faith, hope and love in each life and relationship.
