(Start Transition And Realize Success)

A Conference & Resource Fair for Families of Teens with Disabilities   

The STARS Conference is a FREE conference presented by The School District of Palm Beach County’s Council for Transitioning Youth and the United Way of Palm Beach County. This conference offers workshops and an agency fair to empower parents and youth to reach their potential and live a dignified life. Workshop sessions include:

• Agency Services
• Planning ahead for college, careers, age of majority, guardianship, and adult medical care,
• Self Advocacy,
• Independent Living and Social Skills
• Understanding the Transition Individual Education Plan (IEP)

Students will be able to participate in art, music and self-advocacy activities, including:

• How to handle bullying
• Internet Safety
• Leisure Activities: Buckley Griffis, World Percussionist Instructor and various arts projects

Open to all Palm Beach County youth with disabilities, ages 14 –22, and their families.
