Lift Every Voice: The Black LGBTQ Oregonian Experience 

On National Coming Out day the Portland Black Chapter of PFLAG and the Urban League of Portland will host an event to highlight the collaboration of these two social justice organizations.  Black PFLAG and ULPDX have combined efforts to organize a community survey which would lift the voices of the Black Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer community.  We collected 200 surveys that tell a unique story of the experiences of the Black LGBTQ community.  At this event we will share what we have learned and listen to an invited guest of speakers. 

We know that to be more politically engaged we need more information.  The Lift Every Voice event is designed to inform our community on the needs of the Black LGBTQ community through a concerted effort to write a report capturing that experience.
