The Shadow Box

This poignant drama by Michael Cristofer provides rare insight into the lives of three families dealing with a life-threatening illness after treatment options have been exhausted. The play takes place over twenty-four hours in three separate vacation cabins on the grounds of a large hospital. The patients, Joe, Brian, and Felicity, live with their respective families in the cabins. All three have agreed to allow the hospital to chronicle their end-of-life experience through interviews, to give the medical community a better understanding of the issues patients and families face.

You will laugh, you will cry, you will be moved, and you will leave with an elevated understanding of this sacred time of life.

The Shadow Box opened on Broadway at the Morosco Theater in 1977, where it earned both a Tony Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Please do not miss your opportunity to experience The Shadow Box, staged in recognition of National Hospice Month.  Proceeds benefit Hospice Care Plus.
