Rheinberger’s layered harmonies, woven throughout this lovely Christmas cantata, reflect the rich colours and sounds of the season. Enjoy chatting with friends over home baking at our annual holiday reception and stay for our Christmas Market.

Pax Christi Chorale has a rewarding history with the music of Josef Rheinberger. We have performed and recorded his music several times and absolutely love singing it. While the melodic lines are soaring, wide-ranging and expressive- purely romantic, like Brahms or Mendelssohn-  he also writes challenging counterpoint and fugues for the choir. His works are challenging to learn and rewarding to sing.

"As voices soared and diminished, seamlessly weaving through intricate contrapuntal passages then rising together in magnificent harmonies, this shared, great love of choral singing encompassed all who were privileged to be present." Barrie Examiner, October 2011
