5:30 PM Presentation by local mom and Stanford Professor Dr. Jennifer Aaker
6:15 PM Family Service Projects
People of all ages can make a difference for people in need.
Stanford Professor Jennifer Aaker will share how small acts can create big change in one's life as well as in the lives of those around them. She will provide ways that families can affect change in their lives and those less fortunate. Aaker concludes with key insights on the psychology of happiness and meaning. What makes us happy isn't always what we believe makes us happy. Following her presentation, attendees will participate in a service project, collectively effecting change.
Service opportunities will benefit the following:
Superstorm Sandy Victims (making polar fleece blankets)
Monument Crisis Center (bagging rice and beans for the hungry)
Bay Area Rescue Mission (toiletry kits for the homeless)
Childcare is available by reservation.
Tickets: $10 per adult, children are free
The Lamorinda familycenter offers opportunities for parents and children to spiritually recharge before starting the week of school and other obligations. The Lamorinda familycenter also offers resources to assist parents and grandparents as we strive to raise centered and resilent kids. Opportunities for fellowship, education, support and mission service teach children to care for those in need. We invite families of all ages and types to attend these events focused on raising and supporting faithful families.
