Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Hosts the 22nd Annual Women of Today & Tomorrow Luncheon on November 1 in Boise

Now in its 22nd year, the Women of Today and Tomorrow (WoTT) Luncheon is a community event that recognizes "women of today" and “women of tomorrow.” The “women of today” honorees are community-centered individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary vision, achievement, and leadership. The "women of tomorrow" honorees have completed the highest level of Girl Scouting and have proven they are also focused on leadership. These women serve as outstanding role models to girls who participate in Girl Scouts of Silver Sage programs.

2012 Honorees:
Kristin Bjorkman, Hawley Troxell; Carolyn Holly, KTVB News; Kim Johnson, SUPERVALU/Albertsons; Serena McAlvain, McAlvain Construction; Lori Manzanares, College of Western Idaho; Maureen O'Toole, Self-Employed; Juno Van Ocker, Retired Teacher; Colleen Ramsey, Idaho Power; Antonina Robles, Hewlett Packard; Sheila Spangler, Idaho Women's Business Center; Sarah Kelly, College Student; and Kendra Jozwiak, College Student.

Speaker Panel:
Please join our sponsors, volunteers and staff, along with a panel of past WoTT honorees (some former Girl Scouts) who will speak about the people and experiences in their lives who helped to get them to where they are today. Panel members include: Natalie Camacho Mendoza, Camacho Mendoza Coulter Law Group; Jenifer Dellgard, Bank of the Cascades; Marcia Franklin, Idaho Public Television; and Sara Jaszkowski, Morgan Stanley.

Funding generated from our WoTT luncheon supports programs and operations of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience throughout southern Idaho, Malheur County, Oregon, and parts of northern Nevada. Programs include traditional troops, the Visions in-school program, domestic and international Destinations travel, Soy Unica! Soy Latina!, camp scholarships, virtual programs and special interest programs such as Outdoor and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

To ensure every girl, no matter where she’s from or what her background, is able to join the Girl Scouts, nearly forty percent of the girls who participated in our programs received some kind of financial support last year alone. Girl Scouts of Silver Sage is proud to serve nearly 5,500 girls and 2,200 adult mentors.

As Juliette Gordon Low, founder of Girl Scouts, once said, “The work of today is the history of tomorrow, and we are its makers.”
