How well is your city doing? How well is your department doing? In this session we will show you the process to develop your key performance indicators. First we’ll look through the eyes of your customers, then by your key processes and go through how to select your metrics. We’ll provide you with the resources that are already available.

Performance measures are based on data, and tell a story about whether an agency or activity is achieving its objectives and if progress is being maid toward attaining policy or organizational goals. Recently, Governor Walker issued Executive Order 66 requiring state agencies to define their mission and create measurement criteria for the services they perform.  What are the characteristics of good measures? How many should we have?  How do we report our progress?  This session will address these questions, and provide attendees with tools to develop performance measures in their own organizations.
