Vantage Toilet Project

We are proud to announce the 17^th Annual Seattle Bouldering Challenge (SBC) climbing competition to be held at Stone Gardens Seattle.  In addition to working hard to put on a fun and exciting redpoint comp for our climbers, this year’s comp will also operate as a benefit for the Vantage Toilet Project.  The Washington Climbers Coalition, the American Alpine Club and the Mountaineers are all working together to bring restrooms to this popular, Washington climbing area and we wanted to do our part.  Stone Gardens will donate a portion of each registration to the fund this project.  In addition we will be diverting some of the prizes into a gear raffle and all of the proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Vantage Project. 

Competition Description

For  2012 we will be holding  a USA Climbing competition as a new addition to the SBC. Both will be redpoint competitions, see the rules below for more details.

                The USA Climbing competition is a youth oriented competition with categories based on age. Climbers will earn points that allow them to compete in Regional USA Climbing events and beyond. All competitors in this event must be USA Climbing members, and have their membership number, or pay a $5 day membership to USA Climbing (cash only please!). This competition will happen from 8-11am

                The Seattle Bouldering Challenge (SBC) is an adult focused competition where climbers choose their category based on how hard they climb and compete for prizes. The top three climbers in each category will receive prizes. This competition is a great way for anyone to experience the fun and exciting of competing against their peers. This competition will have two sessions from 11:30am-2:30pm & 2:45-5:45pm.

Schedule

Session 1  - All USA Climbing Categories

•               Check in  6:45 – 7:45am
•                 Rules 7:45am
•                 Climbing 8am – 11am
•                 Results & awards 12:30pm by USAC staff

Session 2 – SBC Categories: Beginner, Masters & Advanced

•                 Check in 10am – 11am
•                 Rules 11:15am
•                 Climbing 11:30am – 2:30pm

Session 3 – SBC Categories: Intermediate & Open

•                 Check in 1:30-2:30pm
•                 Rules 2:30pm
•                 Climbing 2:45 – 5:45p

 Awards and Raffle  - 6:45pm (must be present to win raffle items)

• Junior – Born in 1994-95
• Youth A – Born in 1996-97
• Youth B – Born in 1998-99
• Youth C – Born in 2000-01
• Youth D – Born in 2002 or later

Cost

• Online Registration is now closed. You can still register the day of the competition.
  
• Day of Registration - $45
  
• T-Shirts are available for purchse for $12 plus Sales Tax. Please note that the competition fee does not include a T-Shirt. There are limited quantities available.

Registering multiple climbers?

If you want to register multiple climbers please use the Add Guest feature and enter the additional climbers information and category. You can register up to 5 additional climbers this way. Please note that our registration does not allow multiple separate registrations with the same email address. If you run into any problems with this you can use a different email address to do a complete second registration.

Waiver

All climbers must have completed a Stone Gardens Waiver within the last year. Climbers under 18 years of need to have the waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian. Click here to fill out Stone Gardens Waiver. Climbers without a waiver will not be allowed to climb.  We recommend anyone under the age of 18 complete a new waiver or call our Front Desk at 206-781-9828 to confirm they have a valid waiver on file.
