KEYNOTE SPEAKER - MARGOT H. KNIGHT
This year’s esteemed keynote, is Margot H. Knight, Executive Director of the renowned Djerassi Resident Artist Program in Woodside. Margot’s career in the arts and humanities spans 35 years. Each position has incorporated the things she loves--history, challenges, artists, scholars, education and access. Besides overseeing one of the foremost international artist communities, she has held the presidencies of United Arts of Central Florida and United Arts of Raleigh & Wake County, served as executive director of the Idaho Commission on the Arts and Washington State University's Oral History Office, and has had staff positions with the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies and Washington Commission for the Humanities. She currently serves on the Private Sector Council for Americans for the Arts and is a proud recipient of the Michael Newton Award. Margot is a writer, blogger, frequent consultant, speaker and grants panelist. She lives on site at the Djerassi program.
SPECIAL MUSICAL GUEST - VIJAY MASHARANI
Vijay Masharani, has been studying guitar since 3rd grade. Now a senior at Crystal Springs Uplands, Vijay studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under Scott Cmiel, and at the conservatory plays as part of a quartet and as a solo artist. His repertoire consists of mid to early 20th century composers with a little bit of baroque and romantic music sprinkled in. In April of 2012, he opened for internationally known guitarist Thiebault Cauvin.
