Dianne T. Robinson, PhD, LCDC, Licensed Psychologist and Program Director, Family and Patient Education, for the San Antonio State Hospital, will be the featured speaker for the Clarity CGC community monthly event on Friday, November 16. The topic of her presentation will be "Demystifying the State Hospital Experience."
During this 2-hour presentation Dr. Robinson will review the history and current status of psychiatric hospitalization in the United States and Texas. She will also describe the state hospital experience at the San Antonio State Hospital, including:
Dr. Robinson will also discuss various opportunities for community involvement at SASH and how to get involved with the state hospital.
The program qualifies for 2 hours of CEU credit (LPC, LMSW, NAADAC and PhD). Space is limited, so please RSVP.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Dr. Dianne Robinson earned a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology in 1999. She is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with over 30 years experience in the mental health field. Dr. Robinson's contributions to the field as a researcher, published author, professor and psychologist have made her the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the 2012 NAMI - Texas Mental Health Professional of the Year Award. Dr. Robinson currently serves as the Program Director for the San Antonio State Hospital Family and Patient Education Program, winner of the 2012 Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians David Pharis Award for DSHS State Hospitals Safety and Quality.
