What They Mean, How to Use Them 1-8-13
Are you receiving financial statements you do not fully understand? Do the terms used in financial reports leave you feeling confused? This class provides an introduction to accounting and financial reporting. It is designed for those either receiving financial statements for their business or seeking an overview of the concepts and terms used in financial reports. Financial statements are the "report cards" for your business. In order to manage your business successfully, you must be able to interpret and understand the data. This workshop will teach you the terms used in financial reporting, how to classify the data correctly, and then how to use the information to maintain or grow your business.You will also learn:
- Basic accounting terms and their uses
- How financial statements are generated
- The interaction between the Income Statement, the Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
- The importance of maintaining accuracy
- How to use your financial statements to maximize effectiveness

He held financial analysis positions at Silicon Valley high technology firms, ranging from startups to multinational manufacturing companies including AMD and SanDisk. He holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.S. in Physics from UC Santa Barbara. His specialty is in bringing together his breadth of business knowledge, including accounting, operations, marketing, legal, and tax to create financial plans that have depth and hold meaning for the company managers.
