Lunch & Learn: Tracking Down Jewish Civil War Soldiers

Visit Washington’s oldest synagogue, dedicated in the presence of President Ulysses S. Grant, to hear Dr. John R. Sellers discuss his project to identify and list all Jewish Civil War soldiers. Learn how Sellers, the Library of Congress's Lincoln specialist for more than 30 years, is using 21st-century technology to fill in our understanding of Jewish participation in the country's defining conflict. To coincide with the launch of a new online exhibition, Jewish Life in Mr. Lincoln's City.
