Capital City Clinic
The 2013 summer session of Capital City Basketball Clinic marks the camps’ 27th year and the second year at Thomas College. Coach Paul Vachon has built the CCC into one of the best day camps in the country. Many of the girls, ranging from grades 3-9, enter the clinic as strangers. By Friday afternoon, they will leave as teammates and many times as best friends!
The objective for the Capital City Clinic is to provide the best possible instruction in all phases of basketball that is developmentally appropriate to each camper. Each camper will receive individual, team, and group instruction and will be involved with a camp coach.
Coach Vachon is most well known for what he accomplished while the Girls' Varsity Basketball Coach at Cony High School in Augusta, Maine. During his 23-year tenure at Cony, he led his teams to seven state titles. He was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002. Coach Vachon started and directed the Capital City Girls’ Basketball Clinic for 24 years and built the Capital City Clinic into one of the best day camps in the country.
