Getting Started with Your Technology
This workshop will assist you to getyour communication device (iPad or otherwise) set up and ready to go. Each individual starts off with different skills and abilities, as well as needs. We will discuss how to make those decisions of how to set it up.
Please bring your device with you so we can do some real time thinking.
The presenter is national known Darlene Hanson, MA CCC. Darlene currently is the Director of Communication Services at WAPADH, a non-profit, Non-Public Agency in California. She has been a Speech and Language Pathologist for over 25 years, working with individuals with severe communication impairments. Her expertise is in working with individuals who are “non verbal” and use of alternate modes of communication, as well as in the area of speech development for persons with severe motor apraxia as it relates to autism. She has worked in the public school setting as a school based clinician and program specialist, and taught university level courses at Chapman University.
Bringing the AAC user is not recommended for this workshop, but is for the Feb and March workshops.
