Stress, Neuroscience and Productivity

The phone rings…the receptionist is late…meeting at 9…Doctor appointment later…decisions needed…kids need to be picked up…Board report is due…bills are unpaid…your brother is not speaking to you…where are mom and dad? All in all a typical day in many family businesses. When you’re overwhelmed and feeling stress, it’s hard to stay focused and productive. Our brain is wired to behave differently when under stress – this stems from eons of survival and evolution. Understanding this neuroscience and the physiological responses of your brain gives you new tools to regain calm and be effective at work and at home. Take some time this morning to explore the inner workings of your brain at work, at rest and at play. This forum will:

  1. Explain the brain's physiological and chemical responses to stress.
  2. Show you how to recognize and redirect your brain's response for more optimal performance.
  3. Provide you with 4 specific strategies you can use to increase focus and productivity, boost job satisfaction, and improve health.
