OSCF 2013 STATE QUALIFIER

Start Time: 9:30 am   End Time: 4:00 pm

Cost: 
$15.00 per player
Please register by Thrusday, February 28th

Note:  A current USCF membership ($16-$24/yr., depending on age) will be required in the Kodiak Section.  New USCF memberships and renewals are available online at www.uschess.org

Equipment:  
Please bring chess clocks if you have them.  
(Boards and pieces will be provided.)

Awards: 
Trophies will be given to the top five finishers in each section. Sportsmanship awards in each section. Computer tie-breaks (SCO).

Section Details:
Cub Section:  For beginning unrated players and players rated < 600.

This division will be split into smaller sections based on number of registrants and grade level.  5 round Swiss, G/25, NWSRS rated, but not USCF rated.  Recording is not required.  Clocks will be used only if both players agree or if the tournament director assigns a clock.

Bruin Section:  For intermediate unrated players and players rated 600 – 999.

The Bruin division will be split into smaller sections based on number of registrants and rating, or grade level if unrated.  5 round Swiss, G/30, NWSRS rated. Recording is not required.  Clocks may be assigned and must be used if a director or player brings one to the table.

Kodiak Section:  Anyone may play in this division, but players with USCF or NWSRS ratings >= 1000 MUST play here. 

This division will be split into sections based on number of registrants and rating, or grade level if unrated.   5 round Swiss, G/40, NWSRS/USCF rated. Clocks, notation, and current USCF membership required.
