Oak Woodland Restoration Planting

Take advantage of the opportunity to visit one of the locations rarely seen by visitors in Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.  Volunteers for this event will be working near North Stone Lake planting seedlings for increased habitat.  All training and tools will be provided.  Binoculars are suggested as there are many types of water fowel in the area.

**Please note that due to the location of this planting, access of the site may require some off-road driving on dirt and gravel roads and a walk of up to a 1/2 mile.  Accessibility will depend on recent weather conditions.  Volunteers must arrive by 9am to participate as they will be escorted in to the site.  Late volunteers can not be accommodated.  Please plan to stay for the duration of the planting.

We want to ensure that your time with us is a success!  Please prepare for this event in the following ways:

  • Bring your completed Volunteer Release form
