Dr. Jenn Pereira is a school psychologist, licensed mental health counselor, and registered play therapist- supervisor.  She has worked in the field for 13 years, with her primary focus being children and families.  Currently, Jenn is the owner of The Banyan Tree Wellness Center, and assistant professor teaching masters level mental health and marriage and family counseling classes.  While she enjoys teaching, play therapy and play therapy supervision are the areas she has had a long standing love affair with!  Jenn works to incorporate play and experiential modalities into all her counseling sessions, class curriculum, and supervision sessions.   

EricDr. Eric S. Davis currently works as an Assistant Professor in Counseling at Argosy University-Tampa.  He completed his M.Ed. degree in School Counseling from Middle Tennessee State University in 2002 and Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the University of Florida in 2010.  His professional certifications include National Certified Counselor, Tennessee and Florida Certified School Counselor, and Registered Play Therapy (in progress). He has over 10 years of experience working with children in a variety of settings including juvenile detention, special education, and schools.  His theoretical orientations include choice theory and client centered therapy.  He typically employs reality therapy and child centered play therapy techniques in counseling sessions.  His hobbies include reading, watching movies, cheering for his beloved Chicago Bears, and going to theme parks with his wife, Amanda and the soon-to-be newest member of the family-Baby Girl Davis due in March!

This training is designed to put play back into our work with supervises! The speakers will present experiential and play therapy based techniques for engaging supervises in the supervision process, creating relationships, dealing with client/supervise issues, and furthering development of supervisee skills. Attendees will be engaged in dialogue and experiential activities.

Attendees will learn:
1. The important role play therapy techniques and philosophy can play in the supervision process
2. How to incorporate play therapy and experiential techniques into work with supervisees in supervision
3. Hands on practice of play therapy supervision skills and activities 

CEU INFORMATION:

 This pre-conference is sponsored by the Florida Association for Play Therapy (FAPT).  This pre-conference  will provide 3 contact hours of continuing education credit, for which full attendance is required.  Late arrivals and/or early departures will preclude the awarding of any continuing education credit.  FAPT maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

FAPT is an approved provider for the Association for Play Therapy to offer continuing education specific to play therapy. APT Provider #02-115.

FAPT is approved by the Florida Department of Health under FL Statute 491 to offer continuing education for Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Mental Health Counselors. Provider Number BAP-50-10520 expires 03/31/2013.
