 Details
Agile Project Management (Sheri French)
"Project Management in an Agile World":  This session provides a brief overview of project management, and then discusses the challenges project managers face when the project requirements change quickly!
Six Hats Thinking (Diane Moench)
Would you like to be able to explore a subject in a constructive and non-adversarial way which helps build consensus?  Confusion is caused in thinking by trying to focus on too many aspects of a subject at once – information, emotions, hopes, risks, and creativity.  Separating each aspect allows a more complete understanding of  the subject.  Come learn about and practice this lateral thinking technique that has been used by NASA, IBM, DuPont, NIT(Japan), Shell, BP, Statoil(Norway), Marzotto(Italy) and Federal Express.
Day in the Life of a PM (Kay Wais)
Project management jobs are found in all industries, the role crosses all levels in organizations, and the functions are performed through many different types of people (extroverts, introverts, analyticals, and creatives). As an experienced project manager trainer and coach, Kay has obtained an interesting glimpse into the joys and pains of many working project managers.  While protecting confidentiality, this program shares personal stories of people from both sides of the spectrum: those who are very unhappy with their project management careers and some who believe they have the best job in the world.  What do they hate and love about their situations and work activities? This session is applicable to anyone exploring new career paths and who is seeking to identify the best fit between their personality and their interest in project management.  It will help attendees identify and target the type of organization, industry, and project size where they can excel.

Emotional Intelligence (Dawn Hucke)
Emotional Intelligence is the capacity for recognizing our own feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves, and for managing emotions well in ourselves and in our relationships (Goldman, 1998). Emotions are a key element in our ability to effectively manage stress, make decisions, build relationships and manage change.  During this session, participants will learn what emotional intelligence is and why it is relevant, identify ways to enhance emotional intelligence, and connect it to their work and family lives.

Project Management Tools (Dave Roe)
As a project manager, does it often seem like there aren’t enough hours in the day to complete all the work you need to do to keep your team performing well and your project on track?  To be sure, having a good project management tools can be a life-saver, particularly if they help you save time.

Influence without Authority (Ulka Shrikhande)
This session will introduce and demonstrate five easy-to-use tools for conducting effective meetings, simplifying decision-making, communicating project status, improving team performance, and gathering lessons learned that project managers can apply on virtually any project.
