Transforming Your Start-Up Into A Process-Driven Company

Tony Nevshemal has worked in technology companies since 1993 when he began his career in the laboratories of Pioneer Hi-Bred International, an agricultural subsidiary of E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Co.  Tony was in charge of the protein analysis laboratory and setting up analytical labs at DuPont/Pioneer installations across the globe.

Tony then took a position in Pioneer’s technology transfer group and served as the point person in interactions between the company and external entities.  He concluded deals ranging from acquisitions of suites of genetic elements from major UK labs to working on a team that acquired a NASDAQ listed company.

Enter fly-fishing.  Tony became an Orvis fly-fishing Pro-Guide and he and his family moved to Wyoming for quality of life reasons.  Tony took a position as the director of technology transfer and licensing at the University of Wyoming where he managed the office responsible for selling and protecting inventions from UW.

One of those UW inventions became DeltaNu, a spin-out company developing Raman technology as a way to identify unknown substances.  In 2006 it was in a stage of rapid growth and Tony joined DeltaNu as COO to oversee the company’s product manufacturing, delivery of services, new product development, and performance on the company’s industrial and defense contracts.  Tony helped grow DeltaNu from a small UW spin-out to a leading Raman spectroscopy company that was eventually acquired in 2007 by Intevac Inc., a NASDAQ listed company.  

Tony has a BA in biology and an MS in biological sciences from the University of Iowa as well as an MBA from Drake University.
