A.L.i.C.E. Training for Instructors

A.L.i.C.E. (Alert - Lockdown - Inform - Counter - Evacuate) is a program that provides alternative strategies to traditional lockdown procedures followed by most schools and businesses.  This program was designed after analyzing 15 years of school and workplace shootings involving some 500 victims and developed strategies to help people survive a violent intruder.  This program certifies instructors so they can return to their school or workplace and teach their staff and students.  There are no additional costs related to instructing classes in your home organization.  This is a very affordable and practical approach to managing a violent intruder/active shooter and follows guidelines endorsed by the PA State Police, South Central Terrorism Task Force, US Dept of Justice, US Dept. of Homeland Security and the NYPD Counter Terrorism Task Force.  This is just one of several program that IU 13 offers in emergency preparedness.
