Learn to take great nature pictures using your digital pocket camera from one of the Northwest's most popular and well respected professional photographers Mark Turner.
Mark will help you learn new ways to see the flowers, create strong compositions, separate subjects from distracting backgrounds, control natural light, and take charge of your camera’s many features. This course includes a classroom lecture, demonstrations, and then extensive field practice on the Arboretum grounds with individual guidance and feedback to help you take great pictures.

For this class you will need to bring your own digital camera, camera manual, and laptop with photo editing software preloaded (free software available). Please click on the link above to get more information regarding class requirements.
Since part of the class will be held outdoors please dress for the weather and bring a lunch or snacks that you can eat as needed throughout the day.
About the Instructor:
Mark Turner is the photographer and co-author of Wildflowers of the Pacific Northwest, an award-winning book with over 24,000 copies in print. His next field guide, Trees & Shrubs of the Pacific Northwest, is due from the publisher in 2014. His photography appears regularly in numerous magazines and books. He is also an accomplished portrait photographer, specializing in family portraits. His home and studio are in Bellingham, Washington.
