Externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy with
EFT Trainer George Faller

The Porter Cason Institute for the Family at the Tulane University School of Social Work, in partnership with Trinity Counseling and Training Center, is pleased to provide an Outreach Externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy with EFT Trainer George Faller. The event will be held on Monday, March 18 through Thursday, March 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the Tulane's Bea Field Alumni House. The workshop will enhance your therapy skills, while improving your compassion for yourself and others in your life while learning in a safe and nurturing atmosphere.

During this four-day Externship, participants will learn through a combination of lectures, videotapes and role play exercises.  Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the basic stages and steps of Emotionally Focused Therapy;
  • See marital distress from an attachment perspective;
  • Help couples recognize and deescalate problematic patterns of interaction;
  • Help couples understand the underlying attachment needs that drive these negative patterns;
  • Help couples create and restore the emotional bond between them; and
  • Help couples repair attachment injuries, fostering healing within and between the couple

About Our Presenter
George Faller HeadshotGeorge Faller is a world leader in helping people reconnect and in building strong relationships. The experience George brings is vast, as he works as a marriage therapist to scores of Wall Street executives, serves as a marriage consultant and conference leader to the US Military, NYPD, and FDNY, and trains therapists from around the globe.  He is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Connecticut and New York, an AAMFT (American Association of Marriage & Family Therapy) Supervisor, and an Emotionally Focused Certified Therapist, Supervisor, and Trainer. Additionally, he is the founder and director of the New York Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy and teaches at the Ackerman Institute for the Family in Manhattan. George was featured on NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams as a “Person Making a Difference” in the world.

Registration Information and Fees
The registration fee is $400, and the deadline for registration is Friday, March 8.
Registration is limited to 25 participants in order to foster a more personal, experiential learning environment. The Porter-Cason Institute is also pleased to announce that due to its partnership with Trinity Counseling and Training Center this workshop is being offered at 1/2 price for all participants, so registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please fill out the registration form, but your final registration is predicated on receiving your payment. Once your payment is received, you will receive an e-mail confirming your registration into the program, and you will be guaranteed a spot at the event. Parking Information
Each weekday, parking on Tulane's campus is available via parking permit only. Participants can park on any public streets adjacent to Tulane's campus, or they can purchase a one-day parking permit for five dollars from the Diboll Parking Complex. The pass allows participants to park on the second floor and above of the Diboll Parking Garage, which is located just steps from the Alumni House.  Parking passes will be available at the sign-in desk at the event registration table in the Alumni House. Refreshments and Lunch
Refreshments and snacks will be provided each day; however, participants are responsible for their own lunch. The Lavin-Bernick Student Center is a five-minute walk from the Alumni House and offers many food options. There is also a P.J.'s Coffee located on the corner of Willow St. and McAlister Drive that will be opening during the event.
