Archival description is the process of gathering information about historical records and providing access to those records through access tools. Description helps to provide essential information about records, facilitate retrieval of information and helps to determine the usefulness of records for researchers. DHP Regional Archivist Kerry Sclafani will present an informative session on the major elements of description, how to properly describe your records and how to create a useful finding aid.
