ACC TALA CLE Luncheon - South 

ACC Austin and Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts are pleased to invite you to a free CLE event covering issues related to providing legal assistance to members of the Austin arts community.

Join us at the Intel offices on February 20th for a free lunch and the following CLE sessions:

11:30am – 12:30pm:  Entertainment Law for the Volunteer Attorney

One-hour presentation providing a general overview of entertainment law and the issues pro bono attorneys are most likely to face when representing artist clients in Texas, with those clients most likely being musicians, songwriters, filmmakers, and visual artists.  Topics include basic copyright, trademark and idea submission issues (e.g., protections, enforcement, licensing), and an overview of film and music business deal points that appear in most entertainment transactions.

 12:30pm – 1:30pm:  AIA Changes Most Relevant to Pro Bono Clients

One-hour presentation providing a general overview of the effect of various provisions of the “America Invents Act” on patent pro bono practice.  Topics include new filing fees, continuation practice, standards for obviousness, and representation of pro se inventors.

Lunch will be provided and Texas CLE credit will be available.
