ACHC Accreditation Workshop

for Home Health and Private Duty

September 16-18, 2013

Laurel Office Park Conference Room

17197 N. Laurel Park Drive, Livonia, Michigan 48152

More and more states are now requiring (or considering) licensing or accreditation status for health care post acute providers to participate in Medicare or other insurance programs. Accreditation is an internationally recognized evaluation process used to assess and improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care organizations. Simply put, accreditation is based on the premise that adherence to evidence-based standards will produce higher quality health care services in an increasingly safe environment. It is also a way to publicly recognize that a health care organization has met national quality standards (Pomey, 2005).

This 3-day workshop is a valuable learning event for ACHC home health and private duty-accredited organizations as well as those that are interested to learn ACHC's accreditation standards and process, from application to post survey activities.

Who Should Attend:
Home Health and Private Duty Owners, CEOs, Consultants, Administrators,  Directors of Clinical Services/DON’s, Clinical Managers Supervisors, Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Coordinators, Home Health Field Nurses and Therapists.

DAILY WORKSHOP TOPICS AND DESCRIPTION:

Participants also learn essential information for preparing the Preliminary Evidence Review (PER) as well as creating an effective Plan of Correction (POC).

During the workshop, an ACHC clinical educator and surveyor provides participants with hands-on training for utilizing their take-home edition of the ACHC Accreditation Guide to Success, a program-specific, comprehensive tool that offers guidance on the meanings and requirements of each ACHC Standard. Specifically developed to help organizations create more efficient policies and procedures, this resource contains audit tools and hints, essential components for accreditation preparation and best practices for a successful on-site survey.
